    dell P2412Hb logo disappears

    Hi All,

UPDATE: post was moved to new thread, so editing it ^^'

I'm a totally new to electronic repair, I do play a bit with arduinos, 3d printers, esp32 ... but I'm generally more on the coding/software side for hobby ^^" my electronic skills do not go much further for now ^^'
I decided to start doing some repair, just to avoid throwing things to trash ...
Since I have a broken lcd monitor, I decided to try to get this thing to work for a start ^^"
I have a dell P2412Hb, which seems to be similar setup than the one on this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?p=1267967 , but seems that the panel and the tcon board are not the same.
When you apply power to the monitor, the screen do get power (power button gets blue at start), on the screen you can see briefly the dell logo ... which disappears quickly after.
The more you attempt to boot the screen, the quicker the dell logo disappears ...
Once the logo disappears, the screen stays black, nothing is shown. The power led stays blue if the monitor is connected to a computer. The computer detect correctly the monitor. if you unplug the computer, the power led of the monitor turns orange after some seconds.
Following that, I assumed that the control board seems to work correctly, and though that it could be some issue with the power board that would not power the panel correctly, so I first look into the power board a bit.
I firstly checked the capacitors ... they all seem to be OK, since in order to test a capacitor, the best is to un-solder them first, and since this screen is quite old and I have several capacitor kits at my disposal ... I decided to simply replace then and see if it would correct the issue ... it did not ^^'
I started looking around, searching on the tcon board if some smd cap would be shorted ... did not find one ...

On another thread talking about 2412MB board, they talked about a fuse on the tcon board, where would it be located ?
    UPDATE: since it powers/shows something on screen quickly ... I doubt it would be a fuse ... right ? .. ^^' ...

Could it be the backlight ? that would turn only on briefly ? but if it would be the backlight ... I would suppose that I should see at least something on the screen ? not a total black screen ? no ?

Since I'm a totally newbie in repair ... does some good soul would have any advice to where to look ?

Thanks a lot for any given advice ^^'

    Cheers all,

Dell Inspiron 3480 All in One corrupt Bios issue: reaches Dell logo and stops
    by computerbacon79
The Dell Inspiron 3480 I own (the all in one, not the laptop) is not wanting to turn on at all. It goes right to a dell logo, but it stays there forever with no other information on the screen. Holding the automatic Bios repair key combo (ctrl+esc) that should let it read a recovery file off a USB drive gets stuck on a black screen and does nothing. No amount of resetting anything so far has worked, and Dell's own support downloads have not really helped. Ive tried another BIN file I found online using my CH341A, and this got me slightly more, that time it displayed a loading bar that never moved...

Dell XPS 9300 (LA-H811P) internal display only shows Dell logo then nothing (everything else works)
    by TheQuentincc
    Hi,
I have a Dell XPS 9300 that's working perfectly fine with an external display plugged, from windows the internal display isn't detected. At boot I can see the Dell logo then when it should display the boot/bios or whatever the screen goes black (no backlight, no image using a flashlight). I tried unplugging everything on the motherboard except the eDP cable but it didn't helped (so it's not the lid sensor). LCDVDD/backlight power are powered down when this happen, PANEL_BKEN_EC and ENVDD_PCH are also down to 0v. It's weird, it almost feels like the motherboard is shutting down the display...

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
    by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

dell e6540 boots to black screen (no dell logo)
    by jake-b
    good morning all,

i purchased a used dell e6540 laptop used 10 months ago from a vendor on ebay. intel i-7 processor, 16 gb ddr3 memory, 256 gb ssd., mobo la-9413p (rev 1.0 dated 2014-08-04). i've inflicted no damage on it since purchase but its past is unknown. starting 2 weeks ago it began to fail to boot (initially 9 of 10 boot attempts failed, now 10 of 10 fail). there was no new hardware or software added (i was using as a kodi video server). the post process doesn't complete and booting no longer displays the dell logo screen - screen remains black with no backlight. some other...
