Are these resistors supposed to be shifted like this?

I am working on a Sony HT-CT60 soundbar. It came to me not working. When I try to turn it on the lights come on for a second then it turns off. I found two of the electrolytic caps had bulging tops so I removed them. The others ones nearby tested good.

My question is these SMD resistors. Four of them are sitting at an angle with one end connected to the neighboring cap. It looks to me like something I might expect to see if they had been moved by a hot air gun blowing on them, but AFAIK nobody has tried to repair this before.

Could this be intentional and by design or should I shift them back over onto their pads?

It's a manufacturing/design issue, during reflow the solder pulls parts around.
If the pads don't have soldermask between them, like in your pictures, and the pads are connected with a pcb trace, there is a strip now making a big long pad.
Sony likely missed some soldermask between the pads in pcb design or loaded up too much paste. Usually tombstones happen as well.
I would just leave them alone, there is no short if the pads are connected and they look like this.

Thanks, I'll just replace the caps and see what happens.

Schematic vs. Reality: Where Are the Resistors on My Sharp Clock Radio? Model FY-70CH
        by TinkerTron
        Hey everyone,

I'm currently working on a mid-70s Sharp Electronic Digital Clock Radio, Model FY-70CH. I found the service manual online, printed it out, and have been studying it for a while. My main reasons for tackling this are: (1) I want to learn electronics and figured I'd start with something I had on hand, and (2) I want to fix its issues. Right now, the radio sounds awful, has about 5V DC at the speaker terminals, and the alarm time setting doesn't work. But I'm not asking how to fix these problems.

Instead, here's what's been bugging me so far:
        The schematic...

Hot Air Blew Away Resistors Near Bios
        by brightest_z
Hi All - I'm in the midst or reprogramming the bios on my gen1 Surface Laptop Studio and I accidentally blew away 2 resistors nearby the bios. I don't have another board to measure values of the missing resistors and schematics aren't available, bbut the bios is a 6x5mm Winbond WSON8, W25R256JWPQ model. The traces are conductive to Pins 3 and 7 (IO2 & IO3 respectively) so I have reason to believe they are 10k pull up resistors since IO2&3 pins are used for Quad SPI instructions.

Does anyone with more knowledge, and experience than I, know if this is the case?

MacBook Pro Mid-2014 A1398 Retina LED Controller Connector [First Repair (Disaster)]
        by bussincaps
        Hello All,

tl;dr: minimal electronics experience and my first repair, lifted 8 pads off the laptop display LED controller board when attempting a connector replacement, options are attempting pad repair or jump wiring.

        Laptop Model: MacBook Pro 15 Mid-2014 Retina, A1398 MGXA2LL/A
eDP Display: Samsung LSN154YL01-A02, assembly sold as Apple part 661-8310
Soldering Equipment: Hakko FX-888D w/ T-18 tips (Chisel, Conical, Bevel types)

I needed to replace the 30-pin I-PEX Cabline connector (labeled J8300 in the Apple 820-3662 mainboard schematics),...

        LED driver circuit. Burnt Resistors
        by jinu_j
        Hi Folks
This has to do with a LED light driver rated for Output - DC36-65V 300mA. This is used to drive a 15W LED panel light.

Now this does not work so opened up and found 2 resistors burnt to crisp. Sensing a learning moment, i looked around the circuit to figure out that it is built around the OB2538 chip. The circuit to a large extent follows the sample application circuit mentioned in the data sheet. I have traced the actual circuit and the same is also attached for reference.

But i have some queries on this circuit
        1. The resistors that burnt to crisp...

        Samsung QE55Q60RAT - no picture
        by YellowJacket
        Hi friends,

a friend of mine gave me this TV to fix, with common SAMSUNG TV issue - damaged panel. Turning on, sound is present, but no picture. So I went directly to standard process, connecting two pads together with a wire ( see in the picture ), and then removing flex cables. With right flex connected, there was half screen working, but still no picture ( disappearing colors and similar weird stuff ) + working sound. With left flex connected, TV is restarting + working sound. I supposed, left side is damaged, so I then blocked all 8 CLK pins ( going from 0R resistors on the second...
