Bose SoundLink Color II Portable Bluetooth Speaker

    Hi
My portable speaker, a Bose sound link color 2, all of a sudden stopped and has no life even if I try to charge it, no lights or any chimes. After taking it apart I realized that the battery is not putting out any voltage into the board.

The battery management circuit is a sealed one and I'm trying to identify it. Could you help me to identify this part please? or a possible replacement for it?

It looks like it is a Microchip product that states R700 108T on it. Could not find it online.

    Thanks

Forgot to mention that the battery does hold a charge and reads 4.2V. But between the Red and Black wires, it only reads 22mV

did you manage to fix the device?
        ive got the same issue
i found out that the device has a ship mode to prevent the battery from discharging and th get out of it you should holde the PLAY button for 15 seconds while the USB is plugged then disconect the USB, but that didnt work
i wanted to power the device just trough the USB port, without the battery but i cant get it to work i think the chip is disabling the boost converter.

bose soundlink color 2 strange behavior
          by Steadily7-Colossal0
My dad gave me his bose soundlink color 2, claiming that the charging port was loose. I opened it up, plugged it in, probed around with a multimeter, and I can measure 5V all over the board. I wiggle the charging cable around, no change. The port looks fine: sturdy, clean contacts. I measure across the battery wires and I get 0V, so I assumed the battery was the problem. But then a few minutes later after I disconnected and re-connected the daughter board with the buttons, lights were flashing and I was reading 3.3V across the battery wires. The only logical explanation for this I could come up...

Replace 25V cap with a 16V in a portable speaker?
          by Paxman_Swede
          Hi!

I posted a thread about identifying caps of my Zoom 9000 guitar effect where I mentioned a JBL speaker I'm trying to help my friend with. I haven't gotten any answers to that thread but I have a question regarding the cap in the speaker, so I thought I'd ask it separately.

The cap is marked 100uf 25V. I have found a set of caps on Amazon that I think will cover the caps of the guitar effekt but it doesn't have any 100uf 25V. It does have a 100uf 16V though. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere on this forum that 25V can sometimes be replaced with 16V...but I can't find...

          bios BOSE |SOUNDLINK COLOR II
          by karlox
good evening, does anyone by any chance have the bios of the BOSE speakers | SOUNDLINK COLOR II. The equipment is simply dead, I want to try a reprogramming of the chip before looking for an electronic fault. Thank you.

Hacking the Bose Soundlink Color II
          by GodGecko
So i have the said device which doesnt turn on and doeasnt take power because it has a battery fault.
The battery has a Ship mode i tried turning that off but it doesnt do anything so i was wondering if the device can be hacked so it takes the power from the USB port directly....
