Re: Vizio Sound Bar No Power Pls help

Hi and thank you for replying any help to get thru this would help ok so my knowledge with electricity is beetween the middle of beginner knows a lil more then average Joe so take make it easier I don't understand wht u mean by WVDC ratings of those caps are u saying to check each cap individually? to see wht power they should be getting on cold side those caps I'm getting 24v on the hot side the big cap is 15v I can't tell it jumps like fluxiates also should I check the other big board on the right side but since it don't power on I'm assuming it has to do with the power board

If you know which conductors bring power TO the board, look at the voltage rating of the caps that it encounters, there. The supplied voltage will not exceed the WVDC ratings of those caps (and will typically be at least ~40% less).

Post #9: I ask you to check the Voltage between the two legs of the main filter cap but your picture on show the Red probe on one leg, so where is the black probe that is supposed to be on another leg? But that is not important any more because you are getting the 24Vdc on the cold side without other boards connected to the power supply board, you need to have all the boards back in place and verify that the 24VDc is still present.

Ok tried on this pins tht are labeled and I do have a 24v on each point here are pictures of other board let me know if I need to open it better to get better pictures tht is the only board I have removed and placed back the power board

Sry yes it's very difficult to take picture one hand and the other to point to the prongs ok so I bassicly tested out by putting the black prong on negative and the red prong proon positive to get the 24+ I will try the other connections u mention to see wht I get

We will need the pictures of other boards to see how they are all connected together.
Do you have tools to do SMD repair?

Well, the power supply is working otherwise you will not have the 24VDC, so you should also see the 24V right at the connector pins.

Pictures of the 2 caps on cold side both of the getting 24.02v
And the big one by self on hotside thts cap ur talking about right? on hot side15.24v to 15.25v

Update: if I put the multimer prongs to test leg a lil bit higher I'm getting 156.7dc to 157.8dc on the hot side on the big brown cap so I'm assuming no I'm not getting 160v if thts correct cap ure pointing to on hot side

"with the power board disconnected and no power to it and there's no continuaty on both medium caps on the cold side 24.02V and on the hot sidebon the big cap beetween 15.24-15.25v "
What do you mean 24.02VDC and 15.24 -15.25v If have no power to the power to the board? Very confusing. Are you saying you are getting 24.02VDC on the cold side?
Sry for confusion ok so with everything connected DC power and my multimeter to test the legs beetween each leg on cold side both caps are 24.02v

And on the hot side the big brown cap when I test the legs beetween it goes 15.24v to 15.25v as I go lower to the legs and Board to test it fluxiates like bounces around on the hot side with power coming from wall as DC

What DC V do you get when measure right between the two legs of the main filter caps in the hot side (be real careful since you will be working in the deadly side of the circuit)?
