I got an AV Labs AVL320 Multimedia Desktop Theater subwoofer amplifier from a local junkyard.
The problem was a loud hum in the subwoofer.
Tracing the source of the hum revealed a large amount of DC voltage (close to one of the supply rails) around the inputs of the YG4558 (LM4558 equivalent) preamplifier. Replacing this (leaky) chip fixed the problem.
Does anyone know the manufacturer of a YG4558 op-amp?
