Beats Pill 2.0 Li-Ion battery pack dead

    Hi there,

Just another case of Beats Pill 2.0 defective: the unit is not power up and it will not charge (dead).
Removed the two batteries (model J272) and measured the voltage...close to 0V. One of the those has a protection/fuel gauge circuit (see attached photo).
At this point, desolder both cells and tried to charge them using a universal charger. Worked but the current was rather high.
Now after recharge, the voltage of each cell is close to 4V ...however reassembled the whole thing and measuring the terminals (black and red wires) show 0V. The mainboard of beats pill turns on when 7.2V was applied to the battery connector (everything is running normal)!
I checked the two resistors (R010) and have continuity...how can I see if the two MOSFETs (AO8820) are ok? Any other ideas ?

You need to find out if you do have G-S dcv high enough per spec sheet of the MOSFET to turn on or not. 2~4V is typ.
