Okay so my mini hifi system has gone kaput. I believe it's a power issue I just can't trace it and any input would be appreciated. The unit comes on when I plug it in and when It tries to cycle to an audio source something in the power supply/mains board area pops and it goes into eco power mode and I have to unplug it to reset it. It's a great sounding system so I'd like to try and save it if I can. I have limited experience But this site did help me fix my TV so Im hoping this helps.

Re: Philips FW-C527 Mini Hifi system shuts off
Most likely the audio power amp IC shorted out, that is why it turns off when it attempts to produce sound. Take it apart and post some photos.Originally posted by PeteS in CARemember that by the time consequences of a short-sighted decision are experienced, the idiot who made the bad decision may have already been promoted or moved on to a better job at another company.
