Denon AVR2105 Help Please if Can? New Member Hello to All.

Here goes, forgive my spelling mistakes lol. I have a Denon AVR2105. My son seems he was at playing full volume for about 10 to 15 mins after he hooked up a CD player, that he sat on top of the unit blocking off the vents on top. Then when I came home to watch a movie the system was not working. Only came on for a few seconds and went into protect mode. So I asked my son if he knew why was not working he, told me what he had done. So I tried to reset the unit no luck, then I unplugged the unit for that night, and the next day tested it again still no luck. So I unhooked all of the speakrs 2 sets of Bose 901's VI and 1 set of 301's V and a JBL 12 inch sub and tested them on another AVR and found 1 of the Bose 901's was blown very unhappy.

So I retested the unit no luck. I then opened the unit to see if I could fine any fuses maybe blown none was. I then tested the speaker transistors and found one channel was bad so I got another set of Sanken D2390 and Sanken B1560 transistors replaced them both as both was shorted one was shorted Common to Ground and to the Emitter or Collector I dont remember and the other was shorted Emitter to Collector. Retested all was good after. Checked the Bias and reset it to match the other channels.

I put the unit back together and the unit now will power on and stay on until I hook up the audio cable to the input board #7020-06309-101-0 then the unit started going back in to protect mode.

I then started to test the voltages and found some I voltage in some places and not in others. On the main board with the main power cord there is (1) 2 VR's on one heat sink and (2) 1 VR's on a small heat sink and another (3) VR not on a heat sink. Then on the other main board that the input boards, and antenna, etc boards plug in to there is another heat sink with (4) 2 VR's on it. So I tested all of the input and output voltages as I listed below (1 to 4).

Help please if can I am lost. Thank you all for any help ahead of time!

    (1) on heat sink
    MC7815CT input 19.998 <> output 12.950
    KIA7915PI input neg. 5.530 <> output neg. 0.995

    (2) on another small heat sink
    MC7805CT input 7.350 <> output 3.728

    (3) no heat sink
    MC7805CT input 10.810 <> output 4,421

    (4) on a heat sink
    MC7806CT input 0.549 <> output 0.0310
    KIA7906PI input neg. 0.040 <> output neg. 0.001

something makes me wonder about your meter.
test it on a 9v battery or something.
if the internal battery gets low it will give bad readings.

I checked that also used a Fluke 87 and then a Fieldpiece SC77 near the same readings I will go get another set of batteries and retest with both again and re-post the values. And Thank you for your input.

Mounting and Handling Guidelines for TO220 TO220F TO247 Cases / Packages

The TO220, TO220F and TO247 are the popular packages for power devices because of their versatility and ability to dissipate moderate amounts of heat. This application note describes the basic guidelines for handling power MOSFETs in TO220, TO220 and TO247 packages shown in Figure 1. Please note that only mechanical and soldering guidelines are covered here. Additional precautions are required for isolating high voltage rated devices to meet safety regulations.

          Repair Success! Middle Atlantic UPS2200R-IP
          by valvashon
Yesterday I successfully repaired a Middle Atlantic UPS2200R-IP that had inadvertently been used as a surge suppressor at our transmitter site. It has already been replaced with an updated one but it's coming home with me now instead of being e-cycled. To be specific, this is the MA model that has the blue backlit display and has been discontinued, although this design may have been used in many UPS units including the smaller Middle Atlantic ones in this series.

Here's what happened: We experienced a brownout/surge at the site, which damaged the UPS and took our broadcasting...

Repair of an LG split AC system indoor unit PCB
          by ngml
I am trying to repair an LG split AC indoor unit, which does not start and gives a CH05 error code.
This indicates an error in the communication between the outdoor and the indoor unit.
The outdoor unit is fine, so the problem is the indoor PCB.
The indoor unit is an LG PC09SQ NSJ (3SNM09JA2FA), and the PCB has the following type number: EAX35907219-1.2 (see photo1)
I changed optocouplers ICO1X & ICO2X and the NPN transistor S9013 which drives optocoupler ICO2X (see photo2), but this did not remedy the fault.

Does anybody have the schematics of this board,...

Does anybody have any experience with these Burco units at all there is no record of them on the forum lol and a proper service manual would be nice. I invite you all to pesuade me not to botch repair it with a 5v relay, read on.

This unit was rescued from a skip 3 years ago, the only fault it had then was no backight display (plus it wanted a new probe set and top seal) but the screen was never an issue you can still see the screen as is and I just use it to get 5 Litres of very hot...

Recapping a Denon AVR X6400h SMPS
          by Green Probe
(TLDR: It was capacitor C6519 [Koshin KZH 50V22uF] and C6515 [Koshin KZH 25V47uF] on the power supply. I have questions at the end)
Disclaimer: I'm an amateur hobbyist and will get things wrong.
Always use caution when working around mains power and high voltage capacitors!

Hey guys, I'm repairing a Denon AVR X6400h for my brother. It quit powering on after a power outage. It acted like this last time there was an outage, but after letting it sit overnight it started working again for a few years. This time letting it sit did not bring it back.
          SYMPTOMS:
          -No display...
