    Sharp MD-R3 TOC read error.

Hi, I usually post in the Tv trouble shooting but I do have this player giving the above error, I've taken it apart so I can see the drive trying to do it's thing, the disc spins, you can hear the laser pulse a few times and then the disc is spat out with the TOC read error, has anyone any ideas on how to fix this? I have fix quite a few CD players in the past by adjusting the laser voltage slightly, could that be the cause here and if so, how do I adjust it? thanks, Andy.

I have fixed many a Tv, a DAT player, numerous CD players, some tape players etc, just never a Minidisc drive error????

Onkyo DX-V500 Laser Disc Player - weird SMPS fault
    by dkneyle
This relic from a technology path that came to a dead end (but still has historical interest) was brought in with a dead SMPS, which is based around a MK1210 device. I got it going after a battle. It seems to have a strange design - if it's not getting feedback that the secondary is OK it cause the big FET to go into full conduction and overloads resulting in a blown fuse at best or something worse! I'm using a Dim Bulb Tester (70W/230V) which thankfully has saved the day a number of times whilst repairing.

Now, it loads a CD OK. The motor voltage output (which is built onto the SMPS...

PS5 Disc Not Supported/ Disc Not Recognized Board Num: EDM-020
    by Junior††

    Good Afternoon fellas,

    Issue:
Disc is showing as not supported when a disc is put in.

Here's what I've done, you can skip this if you just wanna know the question:
    - replaced with a disc drive from a donor ps5 (honestly questionable if this is known to work)
    - reflowed the disc drive connector
-reflowed the chip in question (shown on image)
    - I will say this console was very dusty so it's conceivable that it got so hot that it made the chip joints cold and potentially other things on the board

    Question:
    I...

Hilti PD30 Laser Range meter Error 276
    by Dannyx
Good day folks.....wow, seems like forever since I posted anything here Still alive and well, thank you I guess you could say I've become more independent and able to work stuff out on my own. This one though goes way over my head and I doubt is fixable, but maybe some bright spark out there has an equally bright idea.

So: my Hilti PD30 laser meter quit on me just the other day. It was working fine, I set it down for a while and when I tried using it again it gave me an E276 and wouldn't do anything else. I tried taking out the batteries, all that standard stuff but nothing...

    Victrola multi-player - No audio
    by kokopelli75
    Hello!

My mother has a Victrola Navigator player that stopped functioning after a storm. I checked out what I could - all player functions appear to work, but there is no audio output in either the speakers or the headphone jack. I suspect (with my limited knowledge) that the amplifier part of the device is toast. Photo of the suspected board is attached. There's separate boards for front display, record player, etc. This board has a section for power regulation and a section for amp. There's a UTC7266 7+7W dual bridge amplifier IC and a CSC2314F sound processor IC on the board. Visually,...
