Re: Subwoofer auto on/off: Taga Harmony Platinum SW-10 v.2
The two red wires go to that panel (green circuit board with red caution label) which I cannot tell what it is, there has to be a fuse some where for protection. Can I see the back side of the unit?
Re: Subwoofer auto on/off: Taga Harmony Platinum SW-10 v.2
i think i found the fuse, directly at where the power cable plugs in. however i cannot see / access it because one screw of the cover is completely locked with glue. i think theres also glue around the screw thread. i will try softening it with a hairdryer.
Re: Subwoofer auto on/off: Taga Harmony Platinum SW-10 v.2
Well, I just hope that it did not blow the fuse due to shorted circuit that is connected to that TOROID power transformer secondary side such as the output transistors or bridge rectifier.
Make sure to match the fuse type, I believe it should be time delayed (there will be letter 'T' on the fuse body) because TOROID transformer has high inrush current.
Re: Subwoofer auto on/off: Taga Harmony Platinum SW-10 v.2
I can find plenty of suppliers online, but none locally, and it's either very long shipping time (China) or high shipping cost to my country. I'll continue the search...
Re: Subwoofer auto on/off: Taga Harmony Platinum SW-10 v.2
with the new fuse it works again
so I have no idea why it failed in the first place.
i'm thinking now about replacing that one resistor again with a higher value to make the sound input detection more sensitive. but i'll first check a bit how the sub is performing in the next few days.
so thanks again budm . you guided me through this very very well
