Hello everyone !
I recently conducted maintenance on a Hitachi DA-6000 CD player for my grandparents : it had two distinct issues.
Feel free to share your experience if you ran into other issues.
DISCLAIMER : BE VERY CAREFULL WHEN OPERATING ON THIS SYSTEM : THE HIGH VOLTAGE IS VERY CLOSE TO THE VARIOUS TESTING POINTS, PROCEED WITH CAUTION
CD tray would not come out of the player
I could hear a motor spinning inside the player but the CD tray would not come out.
Turned out that the issue was the CD tray belt that aged poorly and began to slip.
I ordered a replacement belt from Dindiki, reference BB_08520 but the belt was a bit too thick and slipped against the plastic wall.
The tray still works but makes a slipping noise, I asked for a thiner replacement belt which they kindly sent, I'm waiting to receive it.
Note that the replacement process of the belt is very tricky, because the room to slide the belt in or out is less than 1mm.
I had to partially remove the CD tray from it's rails to be able to replace it.
The image below shows the new silicon tray belt (in blue), installed. Note that reference BB_08520 is a bit too thick, I'm waiting on a replacement.

After fixing the tray belt issue, the CD player worked fine for a few days, but I ran in another issue.
The player would not read CDs
The player stopped reading CDs, I checked the service manual to track the issue down, which pointed at the laser.
I tried cleaning the laser lens (which you should try to do before anything else), but it did not work.
I was completly wrong ! The issue actually was due to a sled assembly deadlock : the sled was stuck at the farthest position from the center and would not come back.
After removing the one screw holding the sled mechanism and moving the sled to the center, the player brought back the sled to home position and began to read CDs just fine.
The image below shows the correct home position of the laser sled, with the CD tray open.

Other issues
There is a service manual online with detailed schematics, parts list and a troubleshooting procedure to follow, I'm not sure whether I can post it here but you can find it.
Regards and good luck with your repair!
