Yamaha RX-V663 no audio from L/R front outputs

I purchased this receiver on Ebay for $25 with the notion that I may be able to identify the problem with the absence of sound from the L/R front audio outputs. These are kind of important. Hoping that someone can get me started in the right direction when some outputs work and others do not.

One thing I noticed was the main volume knob does not turn (not listed in the description so hoping that it may be a simple repair or new knob purchase).

I would start investigating that knob first.
I'm not an expert, I'm just adding my 0.2 cents.
