    Pioneer sg530

This forum has been so useful to me and I thank all the people who have helped me in the past.
I'm now in need of some more assistance, I have purchased a Pioneer sg530 graphic equaliser to add to my Pioneer X-G7 hifi system. This equaliser was a factory option on this system but as this was purchased second hand I didn't get a user manual. Searching the internet has been fruitless, can anyone help with a schematic of how this should be wired into the system or possible a copy of the user manual.
    Thanks

Thanks, that was the first thing I did and although a couple of sites had the service manual which I did download. This however this did not contain any connection information. A couple of sites claimed to have the user manual but the links either failed to download or open correctly and I ignored any that were not in English ( I could have been downloading anything). I don't give up easily and tried several search engines. Pioneer no longer provide information on these older models. If you can find a connection schematic and provide a working link I would be grateful.

There is an owners manual for a SG-540 which may be very close, or maybe someone with a hifiengine account can download it
It is a equalizer, not that hard to install.

I tried registering for a hifi engine account but they aren't accepting new accounts. I'm new to electronics so 'easy' is relative to knowledge. In my day job rebuilding complex mechanical machines is relatively easy.

I know they are not accepting new members, maybe someone here has a membership and can download the owner's manual.
Did you look at the manual for the sg-540? Many amps have a pair of metal loops for the preamp section that you remove to insert a eq in the audio path.

Yes I have downloaded the manual for the sg540 but not had time to look at, later tonight maybe. Unfortunately my amp doesn't have the pressure amp loops which raises another question. Do I need to hard wire the EQ into the amp or use a separate EQ for each peripheral?

Pre amp not pressure amp... I hate predictive text.

If you have the sa-930 amp you can connect the eq to the TAPE 2/ADAPTOR rec and play jacks then switch the TAPE2/ADAPTOR switch to ON
Connect it just like it is connected in the SG-540 mannual

                      Pioneer VSX-44 receiver HDMI dropouts
                      by RatherLoopy
I have an older Pioneer receiver (VSX-44) that's been dropping the HDMI output (black screen) for a few seconds every few minutes. Setup is HTPC -> Pioneer DVD HCMI in -> Pioneer HDMI out -> Samsung TV HDMI in, all with cheap HDMI cables that have never caused trouble before..

I initially found a lot of play in the receiver's HDMI inputs and output so I kind of squeezed them back into shape and they're making a tighter connection, but the problem persists.

And also, often, the HDMI will drop out in exactly the same way (black screen) just as my central air...

Pioneer VSX-527-K distorted audio after replacing parts
                      by tietoharrastelija
                      Hi,
my friend asked to look at the amplifier. Amp model is Pioneer VSX-527-K.

First symptom was no power or standby.

                      Found few faulty components from AMP5 Assy: transistors Q404 (2SD2390), Q410 (2SB1560), resistors R430 (0R47), R431 (0R47) and R439 (100 ohm). All belongs to Front Left Channel.

Purchased transistors from eBay (from France). Soldered new components and reapplied thermal paste to heatsink. After it amplifier starts and can hear music ok from right speaker but left speaker has distorted and lower sound than right..

                      Checked...

Hello guys, I purchased this week this CD changer to add to my old Pioneer Hifi, well, just lasted 1 CD playing, tried to open the tray to change it and add a full set of three, but got stuck, no opening tray and no response from any button, power but was not responsive and finally unplugged it. Plugged again and no standby led and nothing works.

Opened the case and there is almost one zenner diode that gets quite hot, enough to evaporate quickly the alcohol.

If I remove from the power supply the CD system, the display blinks, also the temperature of the zenner decreases....

Cleaning out the file cabinet, finding it hard to throw it away - but I can't imagine anyone would still be running a 52" SD rear projection.

                      Pioneer VSX 531.Sourcing zener diodes
                      by Fritter
                      Hi,
                      Pioneer VSX 531

I have a zener - ZJ4v3b - to replace on a pioneer AV amp. Closest replacement I can find is NZX4v3b (I think!)
I can only find them at RS and in quantities of 200.
Wondered if anyone can guide me to another replacement or a supplier that doesn't require a 200 lot order ?
                      Many thanks.
