    Denon AVR S720W Main Speaker no output.

    Hi everyone!

    Does anyone out there have any insight as to why my AVR will not output sound through main speakers or head phones?

    Here is the info:
    Unit powers up normal
    Relays click
    Zone 2 works fine 100% of the time.
    Main Zone sometimes works fine like .05% of the time.
    Sometimes I can plug headphones and hear scratching sound via the headphones. Once that happens I can unplug the headphones and the main speaker zone works fine.

    is there something I can inspect?

    I have somewhat moderate skills with electronics. I have a VM and oscilloscope ( admittedly never really used ), but I would love to bring this AVR back to life.

      It sounds like the headphone jack is dirty and the switch needs to be cleaned.

          I have a problem with the denon avr x2000 where the zone2 analog audio and am/fm works fine. But on the main zone none of the channels are getting any sound (including analog audio with direct or pure direct mode). With some debugging it appears like the input card is switching the analog audio to the hdmi board. But there is no return audio signal. The hdmi card seems fine for video. Its just the digital audio path that is having issue.

          The power amp path is fine for the main zone. When i patch the zone2 preamp signal manually to FR and FL, i can hear the audio on FR/FL.

          Good morning everyone,
          I'm trying to repair an onkyo ht-r390 that has no sound output, despite the volume being at maximum, the rest seems to work; the video output signal (coming from an hdmi input) is present, but the audio is absent. Similar situation if I send an audio signal from any input I have no output.

          The firmware reported is the following:
          M:1.00/11107BLP
          D:?.??/????????
          O:1.00/11107AL

          The DSP firmware given the question marks seems corrupt.

          Is it possible to upgrade from a Vestel 17MB97 main board to a 17MB110 Main board?

          I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
          Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection...

          I have a Sceptre U550CV-UMRD8POTV83BB 4K LED (this is a dumb tv) that I bought new in August 2021, so It's just completed 3 years.

          Fixing a dimming zone TV with LEDs not lighting up. Dimming zone circuit introduces added variable to diagnose LED and/or Dimming Zone Driver board?
