Sony amps with upc1298v or upc1342v

I have been repairing a Sony TA-F170 amp lately, and it seems that the two upc1298v driver ICs are causing about 14v dc voltage into speaker outputs (I bypassed the security chip C1237HA to find out this).

Are these upc1298v or upc1342v chips typical failures for Sony (or other brand) amplifiers ? Do they fail because volume knob is turned too big level ?

I have measured several caps, the main transistors 2SC3855 and 2SA1491, some other driver transistors, but found nothing wrong. Some caps have also been already replaced (just in case).

Voltage from the output of upc1298v into base of 2SC3855 is about 14.6V, and it should be about 0.6v. Several other pins of 'upc' have also overvoltage readings.

I'm not asking any specific help here, just want to know if someone is familiar with the 'upc' chips and Sony amps.

The service manual can be found from elektrotanya.com.

Best place to source RAM chips? 8GB 820-00850 boards to 16GB or 32GB
      by ugamazing
I'm looking to upgrade several 8GB 820-00850 boards to 16GB or 32GB for personal use. I am curious what the best practice and process is for sourcing new replacement chips, and what vendor(s) you guys prefer? Another question is, how do I find compatible chips and their corresponding part/model numbers? For example, in the 820-00850 schematic, the DDR chip U2600 model listed (EDFB232A1MA) corresponds to 1x32GB chip. Of course, I would need 4x8GB chips to replace the 4x2GB chips currently on the board. How do I find compatible 8GB chips? Is it as simple as searching "BGA178 8GB 2133"...

Help to identify chips on Sony SRS-XB43
      by maleksa
My Sony SRS-XB43 won’t turn on, won’t charge (no LED light when plugged in to USB charger) and won’t run on batteries. I tried changing batteries but no luck.

I am trying to figure out the cause of the problem and I need help to identify two (2) ICs, which are U4 (with marking CKUCFA) and U6 (markings MPMS9428A643). I have attached a picture.

      Appreciate any help or pointers....

WSON8 NEW Bios Chips READ, ERROR, ETC.
      by feherhollo
      Hi,
I asking for help on some new WSON8 256MB chips. Please share your experience. I faced error on some new chips on read, erase, write with different programmers. These new chips are not exist in any programmers database. (GD25B256D, XM25RH256, W25Q256JV so on.)
      I'm using RT809F V.5.0, EZP2023 Pro, CH341A Green

For the exact experience with GD25B256DYIG is RT809F erase the chip under 33sec. This kind of 256MB chip normal erase time is 70-120sec so I think not all the partitions are erased. If I do blank check or reread the buffer says FFFFFF but when I write the correct...

      Sony KDL-46HX850 Can't upgrade/update firmware
      by dkneyle
Diagnosed this TV as having a failed main board which I've replaced with one from a KDL 55HX850. They are (supposedly) the same board.

Being 'Smart TV' it requires a firmware reboot when you swap out boards such as T-Con or main board. It starts with a black screen and flashing yellow and green LEDS, indicating it needs that firmware boot. The procedure described all over the web is to put the software into the root directory of a FAT32 formatted USB drive and it should load that up once plugged into USB1 port. But not for me. I can see the LED on the USB chip flash for about...
