    Akai S01 sampler limited failure

I've enjoyed my S01 since the early 90s, and it was still working well up until a few months ago. It was in a rack in a heated room and suffered no shocks. Powered up, floppy confirmed, channel lights lit, digital display on, data knob responsive, but the edit contol subpanel remained dark & unresponsive. Everything in the box appears good. No capacitor leakage. Has anyone been here before? I could use a/some guidance. Obliged 🙏

Re: Akai S01 sampler limited failure

Does anyone know or have the data for the transistors C63 18 004 or the FEC 2202 K904 or replacements for them? These are in the switching power supply of my Akai S1000

MacBook Pro late 2016 (820-00239) with multiple failure modes.
      by npielawski
I will just preface all this by saying that I have a fairly technical background but have never attempted SMD electronics diagnostics and repair before, I really like the idea and want to learn.

I have a MacBook Pro late 2016 that died maybe four years ago. Over the course of 30 seconds, it got slower and stuttered, until it froze for a second and died. No click from the trackpad anymore, nothing. I started getting interested in electronics repair and decided to give it a shot, so I opened it, removed the battery (one cell was puffy), took out the motherboard and experimented with...

700mv ripple on Akai Sampler linear supply
      by sumilumi
Hi fellow troubleshooters. This is my first post on badcaps. I've recently setup an electronics workbench. i'm also building a studio with old equipment bought faulty at low cost.
I've been into electronics since the mid 80's and particularly in the last few years though only getting hands on with repairs now. My knowledge gaps are significant so I'll be posting here to seek guidance advice and general practical applied learning.

On my bench today is an old ca. 1993-95 Akai hardware sampler. This runs on both a linear and Smps supply. Both are getting on in age and ripple...

Dell 9310 Memory or RAM (Random-Access Memory) failure (2,4)
      by puccovelli
Hi all, I hope this is the right place to post.

I'm having a problem with a Dell 9310 which is posting 2 orange, 4 white lights on startup (hangs on Dell BIOS logo). The service manual says its a RAM failure.

I've taken the motherboard out and noticed that one of what looks like an SMA 0805 resistor has blown (see photo). The board is an LA-J144P Rev 2.0(A01).

1] Could someone confirm what the component that has blow actually is (and where I could get another from).
2] Whether this component is likely to cause the RAM failure issue, and if replacing...

The TV does not turn on, the standby indicator is on. All voltages are present.
Emms is dead. Not readable, not detected.
      Replaced emmc.

TCL 55S425 few horizontal lines, potential failure on both side of panel/buffer board
      by howardc64
All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
      • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
      • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault
