how to measure hight tension ?

    Hi,
I should measure a voltage >300 v at 40 KHz, I know that the cheap tester can measure voltage only around 50-60 Hz, I have an oscilloscope but not HT probe. there is a solution to have a good measure ?
    thanks

How about building Voltage divider circuit? Is the circuit in the hot side?

      I try with this circuit

but I don't know if a spike can damage the oscilloscope

There are handheld DMMs available that are true RMS and 100KHz bandwidth.

        Fluke 287

        Keysight U1252 or U1253
        PeteS in CA

My old Tek scopes are good for up to 400V P-P though I'm not sure why they have such a high limit, 8 divisions at 5V/division is nowhere near 400V.

My Vu Data scope goes to 20V/division with 8 divisions, and thus one would hope that it can deal with 160V P-P.

If you have a 10:1 scope probe, that's all that's needed for at least my scopes to deal with a 300V P-P signal...
