    capacitors

I am recapping an sx280 dell mb with a kit listed by badcaps. The list shows 3 1500uf 6.3v 10MM caps but my mb has 3 1500uf 16v 10MM caps. My question is "which ones should I use"? Thanks Humphrey1

    Re: capacitors

16v caps are on 12v power rail.
    Can't use 6.3v caps on 12v rail.

It's possible a previous recapper used 16v caps on a 5v or 3.3v rail because that's what he had on hand. That doesn't make for an electrical problem [16v is fine on lower voltages too] but the only way to know that's what happened is to see a board with original caps [to see what voltage they are] or to check the voltages on those 16v caps with a meter.
    .
If you can post a pic of the board (if no camera then steal a pic from the web) and identify the caps positions then someone familiar with that board (or that has one) can tell you what is installed there.
