Zener diode on TNY276 EN/UV pin unkown

    Zener diode on TNY276 EN/UV pin unkown

    Hello. I am working on a xbox one powersupply (no data or schematics). I accidentally shattered a zener diode to pieces when removing a TNY276. There is no numbers on the pieces. I have looked at the data sheet for the TNY and the is no use of a zener on that pin.

    I am guessing it is being used as voltage protection. It goes from the source pins on TNY (ground) to EN/UV pin which goes directly to the collector of the optocoupler.

    The datasheet says absolute maximum voltage for this pin is 0.3V to 9V. And underneath that it says EN/UV Pin Voltage is:

    min: 1.8v, typ: 2.2v, max: 1.6v.

    What voltage should I be counting on it using? The 2.2v typical I guess?

    So should I use a 2.2v zener? If I would to use a 2v zener would it affect the output of the TNY since this pin is used to control it? The second question is just for learning more.

      I have another power supply that uses the same TNY276, and it has a zener across the optocoupler. No numbers on it, I connected it to a 12v power supply with a resistor, and got 7.3v from the positive side after the resistor. So is this a 7.3v zener? Would a 6.2v zener do the job?

          TV backlight zener diode

          Hello everyone, I'm repairing an LG TV backlight and I noticed some strange behavior when I touching the backlight strip with a missing Zener diode.

          So I replaced the leds on the strips and they seemingly working fine, but soon as I touch the strip which has a missing Zener diode the whole backlight turns off for a few seconds and then turns back on.

          Is this caused by the missing diode? If so what kind of zener diode should I use to replace it?.

          The led strips has 9 6V leds.

          I bought three of from them to also make battery packs with this output power limit in mind

          I want to use this battery pack and turn it into a 9.1 output battery pack output to eliminate using 9 volt battery...

          Hi, I'm looking for a bit of help trying to fix the audio unit from a Maestro Mayhem 4.1 gaming chair please.

          The chair has a few speakers and vibration motors. All was well, for a while, but now the sound is gone.

          It may be significant that I discovered my son was powering it with a 19V laptop charger when it should run on 12V - it did fully work, for bit.

          I think an issue could be a zener diode (or capacitor) which has shorted out.

          The board's bluetooth input still works, the vibration motors are working, so is the line out socket but not the...

          My Element 32 inches tv (ELEFW328B) lost it's backlight (confirmed with a flashlight test) and the connector on the PCB (it has one board that has a processor chip, switch mode power supply, and backlight circuit) that has the two wires that go to the backlight LED strips has a very low voltage (28-29 volts) when turned ON, in my opinion.

          Started testing components and found an SMD diode or zener that is shorted (even zero fusing resistors read a few tens of milliohms, while this thing reads zero).

          I put some pictures here to show that it is labeled "M7"....

          Hey there guys. I've got a Corsair power supply that's come across my bench dead. I usually don't mess with power supplies, but it's a slow week so I'm giving it a whirl.

          Taking it apart I heard a screw rattling around inside, and when I got it apart I found a couple blown components near what I think is the 5VSB area.

          There's a 22ohm resistor that's melted and open, but it still has the bands.

          The other part is a zener diode and it's top went to jesus, so I can't read the marking.

          It looks like the diode connects the source and drain of a TNY284...
