I check it a couple times a day, just because I can.

Had it running half volume today for some Time.
Perhaps the melted bias potentiometer caused by the overheating emitter resisters or the fact that I didn't secure the aluminium rail down onto the power transistors may have caused the first replacement set to fail.

This set appear to be holding up.
    Time will tell..

I hope it does not have intermittent connections some where on the board.

So nothing else to test? Just turn it up and see if it holds?

Perhaps the cross over circuit for the speaker or the tweeter?

Not sure, it may be something intermittent with bad connections some where.

I've plugged it in,no lamp. Played some music for 3 or 4 minute. Normal listening volume.
    Was fine????

    Re: Hifi amp has stopped.

You can have the lamp stays connected but when you play it loud the lamp will get bright so less AC will be feeding the amp, but you can try and see if the amp will break down, you can play low level music for now just to test.

It probably was. From memory, I vaguely remember it being a dry joint.
I mean i could try it. Low level. It worked the other day but obviously blew fuse.
    Can't The lamp stay connected?

So the transistors that shorted out are in the left channel that you have problem with in 2010?
If you are brave enough now since the lamp has not gone full bright on you so far. You can connect it directly to the AC outlets and play some low level music to it to see if it will hold up, I have no more suggestion at this point unless someone else would want to chime in and suggest otherwise.

It was actually. I think it was a speaker terminal loose in the amp.
