    Fluke 87 V problem(possible purchase)

This is what the seller states:
NOTE: Does not work for Volts, Amps, Ohms, Capacitance, or Diodes (just displays "----" instead of value). The frequency (Hz) function does appear to work.
The 2 fuses for the amps function are good. Includes a good Duracell 9v battery.
What do you think, about this issue?
Should I go for it, or should I skip it?

It has life time warranty, so if you get it really cheap, you can contact Fluke to see if they will fix it or give you an exchange.

The above is the key sentence with Fluke's warranty.

Additionally, the meter has to be purchased from an authorized dealer. Obviously, buying used off ebay invalidates any chance of getting a replacement meter from Fluke for free.

If you can get it cheap enough just for parts, then go for it. That is, if you need a rubber holster, fuses, lcd glass, battery door, etc, then it might be worth your while.

My valuation method differs from most people.

There are no schematics for the 87V and Fluke uses a lot of custom made parts/chips which are NOT available on digikey/mouser.

In addition, if the meter requires calibration, it is closed case calibration which is out of the DIY realm.
