    Medical Devices Service Manuals

Hallo, anybody know where to get service manuals for Medical devices (other than Franks hospital)? The problem I have is with a physiotherapy machine it shows nothing on the display and the green LED flickers.[

    Thanks in advance.

Is this device your own do you own it free and clear and can do whatever you want it if yes to this question it appears to be a power supply issue because the back light is not lighting up I would open it and see if you have voltage at the secondary side of the power supply more than likely it is a switching power supply and if so look at start up capacitors usually they are under 100uf and will be near the switching power regulator ic chip

If you need help with it please post some pictures of the power supply board both front and back of the circuit board make sure that you can read the print on the circuit board or on the components

ID:	3644464 The capacitors have been replaces by me, but that did not rectify the fault. Here are some photos...

I would agree with you but I would check the voltage output of each regulator do you have input voltage and output voltage if not go to switching power supply or the transformer power supply which ever one it has do you have voltage on the output use an incandescent light bulb to verify that you have current and not just stray voltage from the power supply source

Reseat the square chips in the brown socket, would be my first thing to do. Looks to me like the PSU starts then turns off. Where is the PSU to this thing? Measure the voltage coming out of the PSU.

There is anther part to the machine (the body), which I will test tomorrow with the control panel, as it supplies the power and post the info here.. The control receives its power through the 25 pin serial connector on the back of the PCB. I have reseated the chips, ready to test tomorrow.

Yeah, makes more sense now, that this isn't the complete machine, rather just a part of it. Check that incoming power to that unit somewhere near that transformer looking thing. These square chips in the brown socked wiggle themselves out after years of use and cold to hot cycles and usually snap back always back into place. In the computer world symptoms would be something like no POST, etc.
