    Motorized 3-Wheel Dolly Help

    Hi everyone in this forum,

My name is Phong, and I have been a handyman working for hotels for 20 years. It's becoming a bit too heavy for me to carry the PTAC units to wash them every year. I'm looking for ideas on how to convert my 3-wheel dolly into a 12V motorized dolly. I would appreciate any suggestions on where to buy the parts or any general help to get me started with this task. The capacity should be around 100 to 200 pounds, but my current 3-wheel dolly has a total capacity of about 600 pounds. Sorry if my english is not too good.

    Thank you for your help!

Are you going to want a direct drive to the tire or are you wanting to do a gearbox and then a wheel drive for two wheels or just one wheel
I would if I were doing this project I would use a gearbox and drive one wheel one each side

Are going to use an electric motor or are you going to use a gasoline engine to power it

I am not sure how difficult it would be to use the back wheels on this hand cart but you might be able to use the mounting hardware that is used for the the tilt wheels might be an idea option to consider

or maybe a scooter motors might work depending upon how much weight you are planning on carrying on this hand cart but you will need a torque speed controller for the most control of this device

those things are dangerous on stairs!
if it was the 2 wheel type them maybe electric wheelchair motors would work.

This is not a bad idea and I would agree with you that on stairs they are hard to deal with
