Thanks sam_sam_sam- I see it's a LiftMaster Model 8500 Garage door opener. There was a few relevant recalls for the Wall Control switch. (I see the MAC address barcode, serial number and know where you live LOL).
888LM was recalled due to phantom door operation. Some mention due to failing capacitors.
The replacement unit 889LM then recalled due to being able to close the door with obstructed photo eyes if the button is pressed more than once.
"The LiftMaster 889LMMC, Chamberlain 041A7928-3MC, and Raynor 889RGDMC wall control panels manufactured between March 2022 and October 2022 have been recalled. You will know your wall control panel has been recalled if you see the letters “MC” in the model number and a manufacturing date between March 2022 and October 2022." source
880LMW known for LCD going blank with backlight on.
The myQ Wall Control panel was recalled because the obstruction sensors did not work if you clicked more than once on the button.
What a mess. Also they say the Wall Control Panel needs to be first powered up for 5 minutes, they might have a battery in it now or the WiFi is that slow.Comment

No the issue is that you have to have a least 4 bars on the WiFi signal for it not to disconnect and offline connection what crap is this and as far as the wall controller I have to check the new one but I think it starts with MC so this is more crap if this is the caseComment

I have not checked the model number of the new wall controller yet but I have do this on a Saturday afternoon to get tech support on the phone again and address this issue if the replacement one has this model number and dose not have a brown round dot on it according to the recall notice what is this crap that this they use the same model number for a corrected issue with the wall controller really are they serious about this I would think that you would at least change the first two letters to some other combination and not use the same exact model number but what do I knowLast edited by sam_sam_sam; 10-10-2024, 09:18 PM.Comment

I guess I jinxed it. My garage door opener that operates the big heavy door would lift it to about a foot off the ground and stopped. Got the idea to lube all the hardware up and lo and behold it works perfectly again. That also gave me the opportunity to sync my new remote to it as my original 20 year old box with a 9V battery is kinda worn out. lolComment

Well so far it is working much better than it did when I did not have the right setup for the gateway
So far it has not gone of line sense I finally got it setup correctly
Now if I could only get Comcast internet to work with out going off line is another story I guess I need to become an a** hole about this situation again about every year so I go through this situation where because it does not go offline permanently they can not seem to be able to figure out what is causing this issue because there ( AI system ) keeps saying there is nothing wrong on there end so I am forced to wait until it is more off line than it is online
The situation right now is that it goes off line for about a minute or two and then comes right back online again now the cable tv box does not go offline but when it goes down the internet is still up and running really what nonsense this is
They do not like me when I get this way because I contact there corporate office and get them involved because this seems to be the only way that I can get to the bottom of why service is not reliable like it should be ( I pay way to much money to have to go through this crap )Last edited by sam_sam_sam; 11-10-2024, 09:38 AM.Comment

by sam_sam_samI had a lot of trouble with the WiFi connection from my router inside of the house into a ( new ) metal garage I had to run a 150 ft cat6 patch cord so the WIFI connection would be strong enough for the WiFi connection on the garage door opener would work correctly ( my son has a work out area in the garage as well and he was having to put his phone near the door to be able to stream music ) ( so I was going to eventually put WiFi out there anyway )
This garage door opener WiFi is very touchy if you lose the power it does not remember the password for the router which is weird or... -
by CornboatsI have vintage Slavedor garage door opener that has stopped closing the door. If I disable the up/down current control to the motor it works fine. I've attached the larger control board which is for everything and the smaller current control board.
Normally the current control is set slightly above the maximum current normally used. If the door exceeds this it should stop and reverse when closing or just stop when opening. Can someone please explain how the current control board works so that I can try and repair or replace the defective parts.
I see my self as an interested novice... -
by jm1234Hi,
I'm trying to guess what component got burnt on the control board for my Nice garage door motor Nice SNA4/A. You can see it in front of the 2 capacitors. The component is connected across the 36V rectified input wires, maybe it was some kind of protection device?
All the pictures I could find were of the whole product, so enclosed in the plastic box, eg. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/123998876212
Any help appreciated.
