ADT security camera model A-C4CP How do I hook it up?

I found an ADT security camera among a bunch of other security cameras, but I have no clue how to wire it up. It has two RJ 11 jacks on the back, and no pinout information.

Now, I know these cameras take a special RJ-11 cable with 6 conductors. I have that cable. What I don't know is how to hook the camera up, and neither Google nor ADT have been very helpful.

Tried opening the camera up, and found red and black wires, which I assume are power wires. Even if I get that right I don't know what pins on the RJ-11 cable provide power.

Any pictures of the connector and the inside? It will need B+Ground, B+, Video signal, Video Ground, B+ for the IR LEDs (turn on when dark).

No IR. Has a microphone though. Pics are attached.

You can find the video output by tracing the connector, it will probably go through a 75 ohm resistor.

I'm more concerned about the power leads. I think it's the red and white wires. Once I know that i can figure out the rest without worrying about frying anything.

The really tricky part is the RJ-11 cable. I could easily hack together an adapter, but I need to know which wires go to which pins.

Probably related to the red/black on the connector.
You can trace the PCB to the RJ11 connector.

Yes I can, but it doesn't tell me which pins on the connector are for power. I see where the power and ground leads are, but knowing which of those 6 pins in the connector go to those leads, no clue.

Thinking about it, the cable won't be hard to figure out. Multimeter will tell me which pins go to which wires.

Then again, duuuhhh... I can just probe the contacts with my multimeter probes.

Yes, that's what I was getting at, but if it's just a 2 layer board you may be able to see the traces.

Okay, the attached image points out the contacts that connect to the red and black wires (with red and black arrows, correspondingly). I'm assuming these will be where I should hook up power. After that it should be just a matter of trial and error to find the video and sound bits.

I figured it'd be somewhere on the monitor connector, not the interphone one.

Well, then again maybe this camera's used for intercom systems.

Edit 2: The cable itself has red and black wires, and the red wire matches the pin. However the black wire matches the pin right before the red one, which makes sense logically. I'm wondering if the ground is the first pin on the left, with power on the second?

That looks very much like the old Phillips observation system...

Very likely it is, re-badged by ADT.

I looked into converting some of the Phillips units back in the day & if I recall they use a strange voltage so you might want to plug into a variable voltage supply to avoid letting the smoke out.

http://www.electronicspoint.com/help...t236820p2.html <-- there's a pinout for the Phillips system here but no guarantees as ADT are buggers for having stuff made just different enough to be incompatible!

Well, haven't burned anything yet. I only have a 12 volt supply to work with. So far no results, except I'm pretty sure the red wire and the bare wire are power and ground.

Locate the biggest filter cap on the board, the negative leg of that cap is more likely to be the circuit ground ref, once you find that, then measure other leads to see if one or more is also connected to the Ground. Then look at the + leg of the cap to see where it goes to, it should be connected to some kind of protection circuit to protect itself from wrong polarity wiring an such (with that many wires, it has more chance of connecting the wires wrong to the unit).
The Video just as Tom had indicated, it should have 75 Ohms impedance so check one of those pin against ground.

I'm sure enough I have the right power connectors. Just wondering what voltage it needs.
