I am thinking about buying one used if the seller will take my offer

I just curious on how they work can anyone explain how they work

I am trying to fix a shear that has a bad selector switch and the manual for this machine is terrible at best so I need to use a wire sorter to figure out where each wire goes on this machine

This is the reason for buying on the seller made me a counter offer that I accepted for this tool

there's a number of ways to do that.
probably the simplest is to apply a fixed voltage and super-impose a frequency on it.
the voltage can be used to read the volt-drop.
