    B&K Precision Oscilloscope model 1470

Picked up an old B&K Precision oscilloscope model 1470 on craigslist for $10

I'm trying to find specs for this model but can't seem to find anything. Would anyone happen to know them or know where to find them? Mostly I want to know what frequency it is useable up to.

    Thanks.

      Thanks toasty

I tried searching google but for some reason couldn't find anything...

This scope isn't going to be good enough for me at only 10mhz, but I'm not complaining... $10 for a working scope is a great deal.

Exactly what are you going to use the scope on?

I tried using it to test a y sustain board in a plasma tv.

I can see the general waveform fairly well, but when I try to get a closer look at the set up and set dwn waveforms I can't see them...

The TV's service manual recommends a 200mhz scope.

My Tektronix 475 is 200Mhz cost me around $200 in 06. Good luck finding it for 10 bucks .

I'm fine with it though $200 is a drop in the bucket compared to what it cost in the 80s. Not to mention they're built like tanks (and weigh as much too).

You can start by reading wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oscilloscope And check out this series of videos: http://www.afrotechmods.com/groovy/o...e_tutorial.htm - those will teach you pretty much everything you need to know about a 'scope.

Basically a 'scope is a measuring instrument that allows you to measure a signal in the time domain, ie, it displays the waveform of that signal. It is an essential tool in building or troubleshooting switching power supplies.

                A working TV? How boring!
