Effect of oscilloscope AC coupling when measuring very low frequencies

When applying a square wave of a very low frequency (5 Hz) from a signal generator to an oscilloscope, the waveform looked distorted. I thought it was a fault in the signal generator.
Later, I found out when I used DC coupling, the waveform had no distortion.
DC coupling should be used when the application permits.

How not to Damage an Oscilloscope
    by Tarot Superstars
    Hello.
I have jut got my first analogue oscilloscope. An Isotech 620 20MHz.

I want to learn how not to damage it, and I found instructions on the internet obscure.
They talk about ground, earth, floating ground, this, that....
But they don't actually say anything anything useful so far.

    I want to know:
Don't connect exactly this to exactly there or it blows up.

For example, I am tracing a signal from a function generator in an audio amp, or testing for voltages in different parts of a circuit.
I want to know what not to connect...

    Original Xbox 1.0 PSU: Foxlink FTPS-0002 Rev. B. — 12 V low, 5 V high — transformer?
    by ohren
    Hello!

I'm looking at an original Xbox PSU: Foxlink ftps-0002 rev. B. The 12 V output is too low, and the 5 V output is too (?) high. Unfortunately I don't have an oscilloscope but only a DMM for diagnosis.

    Measured voltages with no load:

    After rectifier diodes
    12V: 6.17 V
    5V: 5.67 V

Secondary transformer pins AC measurement (really don't know if this says anything)
    12V: 2-2.5 V
    5V: 1.04 V

I also have another (working) Xbox psu from Delta. The same measures there, in order, being: 10.79,...

    Dynamco analogue oscilloscope
    by Evets
I have recently acquired a Dynamco D7100 analogue oscilloscope without a user manual. As this is the first time I have owned or used an oscilloscope I would like to try and find an instruction book. The manufacturers no longer hold any information and a Google search only found one site but when I downloaded a 'service manual' all I got was gobbledegook. Any help would be gratefully appreciated or even pointers to a generic manual where I could learn more.

Weird clipping on Logitech Z-10 speakers
    by dreamlayers
I bought used Logitech Z-10 computer speakers. They can act as a USB audio device or accept line input, and they have a headphone output jack. Some music didn't sound right, so I played a frequency sweep and heard other frequencies and beat frequencies between them and the sweep. I uploaded a spectrogram of a frequency sweep. From the very start, some but not all odd harmonics are visible, indicating symmetric distortion. Then at higher frequencies there are descending images of those harmonics, indicating non-linearity and constant higher frequency noise mixing with the harmonics. The image of...

Stubborn GIGABYTE B365M AORUS ELITE - main PCIe x16 GPU port working only in x8 width mode
    by DynaxSC
    Hi,

I have this board, where I have exchanged the LGA1151 socket. During testing I discovered, that the large PCIEX16 slot won't by no force work in x16 mode, but keeps to work in x8 mode only.
I tested this with GPU-Z, also with Render Test (but tried also Furmark and Heaven Benchmark - no effect).
Tested on Core i5-9600K as well as on an Pentium G5420 and MSI NVIDIA GTX1070 and 2 other cards, including RTX3060Ti.
Board architecture definitely allows x16 mode, as all 16 PCIe lanes are present between CPU and main GPU slot (nearest to CPU).
