But this doesn't measure ESR, only uF!
"We have offered them (the Arabs) a sensible way for so many years. But no, they wanted to fight. Fine! We gave them technology, the latest, the kind even Vietnam didn't have. They had double superiority in tanks and aircraft, triple in artillery, and in air defense and anti-tank weapons they had absolute supremacy. And what? Once again they were beaten. Once again they scrammed [sic]. Once again they screamed for us to come save them. Sadat woke me up in the middle of the night twice over the phone, 'Save me!' He demanded to send Soviet troops, and immediately! No! We are not going to fight for them."

Finally bought a spares / repairs ESR60 peak
Nothing wrong with it, sent away for a update on the firmware.
Happy as a pig in shit.
Just want to debug my kinsa Esr meter now.
Checking stock low and normal Esr caps for experience.
Easy to use and also self discharges.

Not much use on motherboards where range is usually 1000uF and up.

The capacitance meter I built does 1pF - 9999uF which I think will cover most cases. (I posted the design on the forums here somewhere)

Doesn't do ESR but I already built a Blue ESR meter anyway.

            Re: Anyone tried this

Lots of multimeters can measure capacitance... even some 5-10$ one.

I've recently bought an Uni-T UT61E multimeter... it's about 50$ on eBay. The datasheet says it does up to 220uF with +/- 3% error and over that, with about +/- 4%. But the nice thing is that it's true rms and shows even its internal capacitance (shows 0.0056 nF on the screen in my case with the leads in the air)

I've measured a few caps.. found some Panasonic FC series 470uF 6.3v at about 495-505uF and some Panasonic FM series 3300uF hovering at around 3356 uF. All the Panasonic capacitors I measured showed more than their value.

Also tested a slightly swollen Capxcon 820uF and it was reading only 120uF so I guess it can have some uses but an ESR meter is better to detect failures in capacitors.

PS. Do you realize you answered a thread with a last post from February?

Yeap that didnt get to printing stage as the ESR60 dos it all
