    Dell Poweredge SC420 Motherboard

    There were 6 blown caps.

    5 x Nichicon 1000uf 10v
    1 x KZL 2200uf 6.3v

    And these were replaced by,

    5 x Rubycon 1000uf 10v
    1 x Rubycon 2200uf 6.3v

And now the motherboard works fine!

The KZL series unit looks more like a KZJ series unit, a series known to go bad and has been known to bulge even though it has never had voltage applied to it or used in a circuit.
My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.

You are right. I didn't identify it correctly.

I'm surprised the Nichicon HNs blew, though. Those have a H05 datecode (i.e. made in 2005) so they shouldn't be affected from the HM/HN fiasco. Perhaps they were exposed to too much heat?
