On this set a 58" model the ir receiver is mounted on underside of rhs of the set. The forward facing area is very small. I didn't have a remote control for this but have a Aultius set with similar fitting and as both are sold via Aldi decided to try the one for it and it worked. The Bauhn had the back panel off for testing other things, all went well so I reassembled the set. The red standby lit but I found trouble with the remote. It worked once in several tries to turn set on then nothing. Know nothing much about these, standby lights OK, how do I tell if ir is OK or not ?
