HP Compac NX9420- Not Open

Hi friends.
I have one HP Compac NX9420. Τhe problem is that the laptop not work at all with either battery or with AC power supply.

Once I press the power button one indicator light, mark that has the thunder, flashes red 8 times.

I removed the graphic card but the problem continues....

What could be wrong?

I had something similar happen after I shorted the 5V source to ground by accident on an NX6110. Clear the CMOS, remove all sources of power (inc CMOS battery) then try again. Worked for me.

Sorry for the delay....
I removed CMOS Battery and I gave up without power for a day...
I tried then with its own power supply, but also with other, but again doing the same problem.

Usually that means you don't have enough power.
Try a differit ac adapter, more powerful and find another battery.

I have ticked with more powerful power supply and without battery.

On some computers, the motherboard can flash or change the color of lights on the outside of the case, such as the power button LED and the hard drive activity LED. For computers that support this technology, lights blink and and provide a beep to indicate a failure condition.
LED and beep condition Description
Power button LED blinks 4 times with 4 beeps Power Supply
Power button LED blinks 5 times with 5 beeps Memory
Power button LED blinks 6 times with 6 beeps Video Card or Graphics
Power button LED blinks 7 times with 7 beeps Motherboard or System Board failure
Power button LED blinks 8 times with 8 beeps BIOS or CMOS problem (ROM)

...the above says HP

I do not know yet if it is a problem of the ROM. When inside the battery and connect the power supply the power led continuously flashing red.

I found a burnt LM393 on motherboard.
So this would be the problem.But I want to check and the neighboring components lest be burned.So I should like the schematic diagram of motherboard -EAL 80 LA-2821P- to see what other components are on the LM393.

I replaced LM393 and one MOSFET that I found even burnt.Now the laptop it works swimmingly!!!
