Has anyone here Repaired the LCD screen to a Korg X-50 Keyboard?

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but thought
    it couldn't hurt to ask.

    This guy has a Korg X-50 was a non-working
LCD screen. I found a replacement here:

    http://www.syntaur.com/4600.html

But there is no guarantee it's only this part
that is bad. He also said he tried to fix the power
supply, which also went bad. That's not good news,
because most likely he made it worse.

He wanted $80, but I'm thinking I should offer
around $30-40, due to the fact that I may not be
    able to fix it properly.....

Bit of a gamble as to whether it's the display or the driving electronics.
My rule of thumb for buying broken things is never pay more than 1/2 of the going used price, and that's if I'm fairly confident I can fix it.
If he wants 80, I'd try your ide of 30-40 you can always meet at 55ish.
36 Monitors, 3 TVs, 4 Laptops, 1 motherboard, 1 Printer, 1 iMac, 2 hard drive docks and one IP Phone repaired so far....

I know this is an old post but if you haven't fixed it or whatever you can try and rub the ribbon cable that goes to the LCD screen with a pencil eraser,it usually fixes it.

The original LCD screen was completely cracked. He
dropped something really hard on it.

I bought the rather pricey replacement on Syntaur,
and a power board from someone locally, and
        now it works great!

        Korg X-50 for about $150......SWEET!
