Re: Toshiba 32AV600E - Standby lights goes off after few seconds, cannot power up

Pardon me, I should have said I followed rather than I assumed...

I can't read the exact marking on these transistors, so I followed the closes part googled found, and the corresponding datasheet I attached in post #17 (see pic attached).

Following these pinouts - red probe on pin2, black probe on pin3 read 764, on pin1 read 1 (or OL). If I put red probe on pin1, black probe on pin3 read 1, on pin2 also 1.

The ic801 appears to be a FA5501 (PFC Control IC)

Googled and found this, see attached. Can it be checked with a DMM?

Yes, Just grind off the top, get out your microscope and and micro sized probes and check the components
About the most you can check is the resistance between pin7 (out) and pin6 (gnd) and pin7 (out) and pin8 (vcc) if any are shorted the ic is bad for sure, but the ic could still be bad if it check ok.
In otherwords It can't be checked with a dmm. (could you find those 2 open resistors by checking across the ac cord? ... No)
The ic's are cheap, just replace it.

Yep, just replace the IC unless you want take a chance on blowing up your new parts.

OK. So here is a summary of what I need to replace:
              - IC801 (part number FA5501)
              - Q801 & Q802 (part number K3561)
              - Q803 & Q804 (part number 2SA1576A-Q)
              - R808, R834 & R835

I will start sourcing for these replacement parts, and some tools to do the replacement...

Thank you everyone for the help so far, I will report back on what parts I have found before embarking on replacement.
