    CH341x ROM R-W programmers + MacOS compatibility

Embarrassingly, excluding a customer (of my retail mac sales + repair store) who helped get my Retina to read the CH341, yet, I could never replicate it again. (he was a super smart guy).

Others I've tried (to name but a sample which didn't work) ...

If others have already been successful I'll spare you the 'How-To' ..

BUT, if useful ... I'd be happy to make a tutorial and also a video

It is via CLI (Bash / iTerm2) and works excellent!

Likewise, I found another CLI app which is superior to 'DIFF' & is a CLI-GUI.
Brew install VBinDIFF for the CLI app to compare & contrasts BIN

    Thanks

A2141 (2019 16" MB Pro) Strange macOS install issues. NAND? WIFI? FIRMWARE?
    by duwane
    Hi All.

Sorry ahead of time for the text wall. This is a strange problem and I have tried to explain it as best I can. I realise this is a hardware forum (mostly), but I am still not sure if this is even a hardware fault! I am hoping that someone more knowledgeable than me in the area of understanding installation logs, or someone that has had a similar issue in the past may have some ideas of what might be causing this.

    The issue:
Unable to do a clean install of any macOS versions supported for this model, even after fully erasing and formatting the internal SSD,...

MacOS: R|W Programmers like CH341x BINs..?
    by TrumanHW
For years I tried figuring out how to R|W BINs from my CH341x programmer.
From FTDI's pkg, Apps specifically claiming they work, I failed for ~8 years.

I'd expect many here figured it out (easily), but in case not ...
It's one of the few forms of "how-to" remuneration I can GIVE BACK.

This group is both GENEROUS & literally BRILLIANT / GENIUS!!!

This may be the easiest means to copy-paste:

    Code:
SERIAL -to- USB - CH341 ROM (MacOS):

    Install xcode: xcode-select --install
    Relocate

MacBook Pro A2338 keeps restarting when attempting to install macOS
    by Simplebeans
I have just got in a MacBook Pro A2338 which was initially displaying the Apple logo followed by an explanation mark in a circle as described here:- https://support.apple.com/en-gb/102164.

After some error messages attempting to revive and restore the machine via DFU mode i have finally got the machine revived however now the issue seems to be when attempting to install macOS Sequoia via a bootable USB installer or via macOS recovery the machine just keeps freezing and restarting before the installation is complete, usually the installation has just started or is mid way trough before...

MacBook Pro a2141 not installing macOS
    by som_b1
hello. I have 2141 on which I can't restore macOS. When loading, no buttons are active, it immediately wants to restore the Internet. But then I see an error 2100f. It doesn't boot from an external USB.
I can't flash it through dfu because I don't know the version of macOS that was on it. Help
By the way, for some reason it heats up inadequately and the coolers are at maximum

    macOS recovery mode terminal commands
    by pumpkinpie132
    Hello guys!

I am being employed at a company where macOS installations are common, and I was wondering if you guys had any tips or tricks to deploying hundreds of macs from recovery mode (we use macdeploystick)! If any of you guys have any cool keyboard shortcuts or commands to making macOS installations a bit faster or anything lol I would be glad to know!😀
