    Soldering Headphones Jacks - Apple Motherboards

    Hi, I just bought a 'dead' PowerBook 867MHz Aluminum logic board cheap for one of its headphones jack. Recently my PowerBook jack must have crapped o ut and makes the computer think headphones are always plugged in. This means that my internal speakers are always muted unless I stick my iPod earphones into the jack about half way.

    I tried heating the jack with the conical soldering iron I usually use with PC motherboards and all I see are either bubbles or nothing. The joint does not seem to come loose. Is Apple using a different based solder? What can I do?

      Back in 2015, I bought a pair of RCA WHP141 wireless headphones at Micro Center for $2. I even mentioned it in the best cheap/free scores thread right here. Just forgot to follow up with that.

      Apple Watch Charging Controller Schematics / Boardview - 820-02601

      Hi there,

      I'm looking for anyone who might have information on Apple's embedded Apple Watch charging daughterboard, ID 820-02601. This is currently used by Anker in their Apple Watch charging products, but likely by other Apple partner brands as well.

      You can see the board referenced in ChargerLab's teardown of the Anker Y1811 3-in-1 MagSafe cube - they discuss the "Apple Watch wireless charging circuit" about 2/3rds down the page. It's not pictured, but the board ID reads 820-02601-A, which sure sounds like Apple.
