    Replacement fan cables

So, basically I have some fans that have been used in other projects and have their 3pin connectors ripped out.

Now me being a cheapskate and not wanting to throw them away because "they could be useful".

I started looking ebay if I could find new 3pin cables / wires for them but could not really find what I was looking for, the wires were either very short or just expensive.

This was the best I could find: https://www.ebay.com/itm/10pcs-PC-Fa...e/281523816728
but even that seems fairly expensive for what it is, and i would have to cut the male conn out anyway to be able to solder the wires directly to the fan.

I was thinking that maybe I have the wrong keywords and if anyone could help me find the cables that I am looking for, I could imagine that someone here has dealed with the same problem before (fan connectors cut off due to fan being used in other project).
Basically only need 3pin female to a wire ended cable, probs something like 50-60cm lenght would be ideal.

The fans are cheap fans anyway so it's really not even worth the labor, but just thought it would be something to do on the spare time.

    Re: Replacement fan cables

it would equal less than $1 per fan. While they're apart, clean & grease the bearings/bushings and they'll be like new. I restore fans all the time and repurpose them. If I rob a fan from a PSU, I'll solder new wires with 3-pin plugs on them, it takes all of 30 seconds....it takes longer for the iron to heat up.

RTX3090 working fine but fans not spinning
            by emil_t
Hello guys. I have a problem with a PNY XLR8 GAMING RTX3090 graphics card. The problem is that it displays and works fine, but the fans don't spin at all. The problem occurred when someone else removed the fans in order to clean it and broke one of the fan connectors. He replaced it himself and after that, it wasn't working anymore. I guess he damaged something else in the process. What i have done so far: I found 2 capacitors next to the connector that were in a bad shape, he must have touched them with his tools - they weren't shorted, but i replaced them with similar ones from a similar card....

Unknown transformer : how to find a good replacement part ?
            by the_rem
            Hello guys,

I would like a quite old but still good 800 W ATX PSU to be repaired. The problem was an extremely heavy coil whine coming from the small secondary transfomer on the PCB.

I desoldered it hoping the references on the upper side would allow me to find a adequate replacement part. Sadly the written references drove me nowhere but to the manufacturer (I-MAG). I sent them a message like a bottle in the see asking them to send me a datasheet of the transformer. And... They responded ! I received a kind of datasheet (see attachment) but my competencies do not allow...

PS4 controller left stick potentiometer replacement issue
            by ezenia
            Hello,

Not sure if this is the correct section, but I have a PS4 controller that I am trying to fix. It developed stick drift on the left stick and the usual simpler methods did not fix the problem.

So I went on eBay and ordered some replacement potentiometers. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174967976757 is where I got them from.

I took the green potentiometers off the replacement sticks and soldered them onto the PCB. Assembled the controller and ran some tests. The drifting was somewhat fixed (not fully in center, but way better than before). However,...

            Good Afternoon, Good People.

I know this will be an elementary little project for most if not all of you, but I thought I would write a post and get put on track, rather than bumbling my way through it with all kinds of trials and errors.

I REALLY would appreciate y'alls help.

This is the problem - My wife and I purchased a big ol Victorian/Colonial House in NYC two years ago. The kitchen is surrounded on 3 sides by exterior walls, there is also a 1/4 of the kitchen floor (ceramic tiles) that has a crawl space underneath, and the kitchen gets FREEZING cold...

            by boosti45
i have a 2020 macbook pro 13" A2251 with 820-09149 logic board so i found an issue with chip labeled U6903 according to schem. boardview using flexBV software, so i removed it from the board and the issue im having is that the chip says "07A08FI ELC180" on top of it but when searching for a replacement chip, i can find tons of identical looking chips that also have "ELC180" printed on them but the first set of digits is never the same so im trying to find out if i need this exact chip with these same numbers as mine and if not which ones are compatible as a replacement?...
