Anyone have CHKDSK hotfix KB872952 for Windows NT4?

Hi, does anyone have a copy of KB872952 saved?
I need it for Windows NT4, Microsoft has been so helpful as to remove all old KB articles and ask you to upgrade to Win10 instead
The file is also known as: 199776_ENU_i386_zip.exe

What specifically does this fix? I have a bunch of NT4 stuff, I'd have to dig through the dustballs of PC history to check.

The way it's been described is when you do a dual boot install: NT4 and Win2K.
Then Win2K upgrades the NTFS filesystem to it's version, that the NT4 version of CHKDSK does not understand.
I think it's more stupid than that: if you simply connect a NT4 harddrive to a Win2K or later system the NTFS version is upgraded.
Thus when you reconnect the HDD and try to run CHKDSK on the NT4 machine you get this error message:
"This NTFS volume was created or modified by a later version of Windows NT."

I will test this during the weekend to make sure it really is this stupid (for my own records).
But as it is I have a machine unable to run CHKDSK for this reason...

Well what do you know, now that I'm at home I found a local copy of the file on my machines.
I really need to make it a priority to setup a 24/7 NAS that I can reach via my VPN haha
The attached WinRAR archive contains: 199776_ENU_i386_zip.exe
This is a self-extracing archive that contains:
        WindowsNT4Workstation-KB872952-V2-x86-ENU.exe
        WindowsNT4Workstation-KB872952-V2-x86-symbols-ENU.exe
        Attached Files

          Backup to USB drive
          by Hondaman
Okay, I fixed my USB problems discussed in another thread. Now I would like to back up some files. I bought a USB enclosure and a 2 TB SSD (I should have saved $50 and bought one without cache, but I bought the more expensive Samsung EVO 570 instead).

I seem to prefer Linux Mint, although I could probably use Microsoft Backup for Windows 7. I think it still exists. Here's what I did with Mint 18.3 tonight:

          Code:
          cp * -pR "/mnt/win7-drive/users/mike/My Pictures/" "/mnt/usb-enclosure/My Pictures"
          and

          Code:
          cp * -pR "/mnt/iwn7-drive/users/mike/My
          ...

          Lenov Yoga C740-14IML laptop freezes
          by Rudolfl
          Hi all,

I am really lost on this one. Lenovo Yoga C740-14IML. Running W11. Machine freezes intermittently. It may work for hours, then suddenly freeze. Or it may freeze as soon as it starts and gets to lock screen.
          Now, what was checked:
          1. BIOS and all drivers are up to date. W11 was re-installed. No additional software is running. Naturally, no viruses, as it is a fresh install
          2. RAM test passed with memtest86
          3. SSD is tested and reports healthy status. It is a Samsung M2 SSD MZVLB5512HBJQ. Unfortunately, Samsung "magician" software is not supporting...

A simple question about the intricacies of SSD's.
          by UTXPaul
Hello all, I'm working on diagnosing a failing SSD. As a last resort, I ran chkdsk on it, and got an interesting result -

The grand majority of the file record segments are unreadable.

Now, from my knowledge of SSD's, I believe this indicates a problem with the memory controller and not the NAND's. I'm just looking for everyone else's opinions before I start reworking.
