Seems it was written by a juvenile/doofus that's never heard of Akamai or a CDN.
Microsoft using Akamai'S CDN is not new or a secret, but then neither the original poster on Reddit or the website that scraped the post bothered to use their grey matter or a search engine.

I have found this interesting article on Windows 10 and the data is records and where it goes.

Microsoft keeps that way and it surely kills itself . Whom think otherwise is totally fool . What MS doesn't know is , ordinary people refer usually to Tech people , take blindly their advice then buy and sell ..
It's not secret too that most of the Tech people around the world are at the edge with MS , Maybe they're waiting one pioneer or two . Once it happens , there will be no comeback .

As if 64 MB memory weren't good on a win95 , lol , and now 16 GB almost crumble ..
As if forced updates and programs ain't enough to convince someone he doesn't own his own computer , lol ..
A small push from Linux and others , and it will be over , that if they didn't kill the whole business already .

          look again.
the question is not about m$ using akamai as a distribution network,
it's about if akamai is doubling as a servailance hub for another company tied to one of it's directors!

m$ knows this, that's why they got involved with the UEFI alliance and bastardized the spec to include hash keys and a bit-lock to keep the owner out of the settings as options.
