    1066 vs 800

Now that I solved my other problem with the 1066 in dual channel...

Is 1066 worth the extra expense.

    I paid $74 for 2GB of 1066.

    I could get 4gb 800 for $38

    Using XP

    No.

The highest JEDEC speed in DDR-2 is 800. IMHO over that you just start running into problems. Notice that there's no chips rated to run 1066 at 1.8v. There's a reason for that. They're all overclocked.

Edit: I take that back. There's some 1066 modules on Newegg that run 1.8v. But notice the timings on those...

My way of doing this is, get the 800 stuff with tight timings, and maybe raised voltage. Then set it up in BIOS appropriately. IMHO with 1066 you just start running into problems.

    I would get this:

Does anyone know if the P5K-E will boot ok with
      2 X 2GB of 800 with XP?

Yes, it'll boot just fine. XP 32-bit however, will only see between 3.2 and 3.5GB of it since there's a 4GB addressing limit on 32-bit operating systems. Other devices, like the video card, use some of that potential 4GB. But it'll run fine.

Good! This is WHY I asked!

And I knew it. 1066 is not DDR2 standard btw.

          Cheers, Wizard

BASH Subwoofer Amp No Sound, Power Ok (Atlantic Technology 642eSB)
            by nobbnobb1
            Hello,

I have a really nice Atlantic Technology 642eSB subwoofer that I would love to get working. The problem is that the power appears ok (LED light is on), but there is no sound. I don't believe it to be the audio input board or anything wrong with the power as when in standby mode (LED = red), I can play a source and the LED turns green suggesting the input is being detected ok.

The amplifier is a common BASH design, my interpretation of the layout based on Picture #1:
            - Top most hanging board is the audio input section. Note I accidentally broke the crossover...
