Cannot Find Audio Drivers- ECS MCP73PT-PM Motherboard

HI all. I am service an old '08 eMachines(I hate their computers w/ a passion) computer that had Micro$haft Winblows $#!+sta on it. It had fouled up, so I put a clean copy of Windows 7 Pro on it. So, I go to get drivers, and I turn up about everything except the audio drivers. Google searching has not resulted in anything. Whatever audio drivers I can find are XP/Vista only. Can I please get some help here? Or can the Vista driver work fine under Windows 7? Thanks for the information!

    WAIT, NEVER MIND!
For anyone who runs across this very issue, you can obtain the chipset drivers(all of them) HERE:

Don't buy those $10 PSU "specials". They fail, and they have taken whole computers with them.

My computer doubles as a space heater.

    Permanently Retired Systems:
RIP Advantech UNO-3072LA (2008-2021) - Decommissioned and taken out of service permanently due to lack of software support for it. Not very likely to ever be recommissioned again.
Asus Q550LF (Old main laptop, 2014-2022) - Decommissioned and stripped due to a myriad of problems, the main battery bloating being the final nail in the coffin.

    Kooky and Kool Systems
    - 1996 Power Macintosh 7200/120 + PC Compatibility Card - Under Restoration
    - 1993 Gateway 2000 80486DX/50 - Fully Operational/WIP
    - 2004 Athlon 64 Retro Gaming System - Indefinitely Parked
    - Main Workstation - Fully operational!

Just in case of another one , yes , you can force many Vista drivers on Windows 7 , by installing them like any regular drivers , and when Windows 7 refuse installing them at first time , Rebegin the same installing and you'll see the option "Install with compatibility recommended " .. Works most of the time ..

Beginner question. Did I find a short?? HP dax31mb1aa0 REV A motherboard
      by Mess

Hi beginner here, so I'm not sure of I've done this right 😅 trying to diagnose my laptop's motherboard (dax31mb1aa0 rev a). I don't quite know how to read the schematic, so I'm attaching the pictures of the motherboard and the measurements.

I was attempting to measure resistance to GND on inductors. I disconnected motherboard and used "continuity testing" setting on my multimeter. I put black probe to Ground & red probe on an inductor. Did I measure this right? Am I correct to think that 0.3 ohm measurement indicates a short circuit? Thank you for your help!...

Legion Y540 17irh motherboard issue ( need help to know how to diagnose my motherboard)
      by Docus
      Hi everyone 😀,

I'm here today to ask for help with repairing the motherboard of a Lenovo Legion Y540 17IRH.

To give you some context, I'm passionate about computer repair so much so that I've invested in a lot of tools and started practicing on dead and old hardware. I've been learning how to solder and desolder components, mostly focusing on phone repairs.

Recently, I bought a broken Lenovo Legion Y540 17IRH for just €150, and there are two main reasons why I made this purchase:
      1. I already own the exact same model, but its plastic chassis is badly damaged.

Scorching hot mosfets on Asus X555Q motherboard - can't find the cause
      by rddube
      Hello everyone,

I am reading temperatures above 105C (221F) on mosfets PQL8104 and PQL8103 and the board is operating fine until it goes above 105C and then it shuts down. Cpu is ok.

So can't figure it out. Attached is photo of motherboard, the schematic section showing the culprit mosfets and the whole motherboard schematic. I changed PL8101 thinking it may be bad, same results. I tested out of circuit caps PC8117 and PC8118 and they measure fine.

So I am at a loss to know what else to check to try and identify the source of the problem

      Any...

Help with resoldering RAM on Surface Pro 7 motherboard, can't find relevant resistors
      by Nayla
so first thing's first: I'm super aware that this is a very silly undertaking but I love a challenge.

From my understanding, to ugprade a tablet with soldered RAM, you need to change a series of resistors to tell the computer which config it currently has, as the BIOS doesn't check for it.

I'm completely alien to reading schematics, but I've been doing my best to read and google every part of the schematic that mentions RAM to try and understand what I need to do.

I've attached any parts of the schematic I found that I think are relevant. Thus far I haven't...

      ASUS P5GC-MX motherboard recap
      by momaka
Here’s another motherboard that needed a full recap: an ASUS P5GC-MX.
This one was gifted to me some years ago by user Pentium 4, along with a few other goodies. It actually came in working order with no bulging or leaking caps. However, I noted there were United Chemicon KZG caps everywhere on the motherboard. The CPU VRM output (CPU V_core) was the only exception: it had only 2x KZG. The rest was 6x UCC TMV 4V 680 uF caps… which aren’t any good news either.

So here is what the motherboard looked like with its original caps:
