    Re: Bad RAM?

Tried to find the manual to this board, but could only locate the manual for the deluxe version. Anyway reading through the manual (http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/...n-e_deluxe.pdf) on page 38 I noticed this:

"If installing the ATIĀ® 9500 or 9700 Pro Series VGA cards, use only the
card version PN xxx-xxxxx-30 or later, for optimum performance and
    overclocking stability"

Don't know if your gpu is causing your troubles or not, but I thought I would mention it.

According to Wikipedia the nforce3 chipset is incompatible with vista.

Asus website has a BIOS 1011 update. It is dated 2006/03/23. Maybe give it a try and re-try with default BIOS settings?

          According to the release notes/website

          K8N Release BIOS 1010
          Fix default memory timing setting.

Maybe 1010 fixes the problem you are seeing?

PN 109-A03400-20A is printed on my card. It does work with it though.

I use drivers that were modded (by a guy named "Fernando") to work on Vista/7 and 8. Feel free to Google them up,they were stable last time I used them.

                Re: Bad RAM?

Just flashed the BIOS - no luck. Still BSODs,although instead of 0x0000001A I get a ntdll.dll blue screen. Again, this does not happen if I replace the 1GB stick with any other stick.

                  Re: Bad RAM?

Hmm, according to the original manual at

                  https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/...d22fce5a99.pdf

page 1-11 doesn't even list 1GB sticks. Is there an updated list says the 1GB Kingston is supported?

Also, have you tried another DIMM slot or moved the 1GB to another slot?

I think the 1GB stick is newer than the board's manual.
