The problems with the Biostar M7VIZ-SATA board in my file server are one reason why I'm rebuilding it with older, real server hardware.
The CMOS is losing the settings as if the battery is dead, but it is not. It comes up and says "CMOS reset due to overclocking" or something along those lines.
I am not overclocking it, and I've tried a few different sets of RAM to no avail.
This was a nice board until a couple months ago when it starting going apeshit and making my whole file server crash because it corrupted so many files. Luckily I didn't lose any of the 900GB of data that is on it.
Another thing that bugs me is the terrible support they have on this board. They don't even list this PCB version on the website as existing
And I might add that if I pull the battery out totally, the hardware monitor still reports 3.1V on the battery... real accurate there
