    Card Reader Suggestions

My main rig's Atech Flash XM-5U has been crapping out on me lately... it will freeze up, and being internal, the only way around that is to reboot (or open the case and replug it). Grr....

Usually Atech makes good readers... this one is cheaper though, so that may be part of it.

This time, I want a good internal 3.5" reader. SDHC and Compact flash are musts, XD is huge plus as well. Must have a front USB 2.0 port as well. I don't need any other ports or the like. My case is black so a black bezel option is a must.

Suggestions for a decent internal card reader?

None of my other USB devices seem to have issues... but last I checked my 5v was good. when it's off the drive is still lit up... so usb must be also hooked to 5vsb on the this rig (it's a tyan K8WE).

Some mbo's switch their (ALL?) load from standby 5V - to +5V rail, when they're on...

Read eMMC chip using SD card reader
            by vbogoev
            Hello,

I found several sources where guys successfully read eMMC chip using a SD card reader. I was interested to try it, just to practice micro soldering, but for some reason I am unable to read the chip. The chip is known working one (desoldered from an old working device) model Samsung KLM8G1WE4A-A001. The card reader is Transcend USB 3.0. So basically I've connected everything as it is described in the schematic, but the sd card reader didn't even start to blink. I am not sure what I am missing, so I'll appreciate some help... ...

Nintendo 2DS SD Card Reader issue. Problem on the clock line?
            by Technomancer
I have a 2DS that I am working on that has a problem reading SD cards. It knows that card is in the slot (which, means the detect pin is working anyway) but it says it can’t read the card.

Here is what I have done so far:
-Tried SD card in another 2DS and on PC, works great.
-Tried piggybacking another SD card slot (just so I didn’t have to take the other one off), same issue.
-Compared voltage drop readings from a working 2DS to the faulty one. All reads are very close except one, the 7th pin from the left, with the pins closest to you, which I believe...

Marian Trace Alpha sound card repair help
            by Christos Tsiligiannis
            Hello to the forum.

My name is Christos, I am new to the forum here and i am posting from Greece.

So i have this old German sound card from Marian, called Trace Alpha. To be exact i have 2 of them and i use them professionally for my small FM radio station here. The first one works like a charm, but the second one does not work at all.

To be more specific in the same exact pc with windows 7 (i even tried 32bit) the one works while the other doesn't.

So i tried asking for a schematic from the company and they would not give me one. Instead they...
