I actually already gave you step-by-step instructions. Just follow them exactly, and your wireless should work.

Re: help on linux disro and wireless connection

Xubuntu is a lightweight version of Ubuntu. Ubuntu should have built-in support for your wireless, so then Xubuntu should to. You shouldn't have to install anything extra.

Post the output of these commands (you can copy/paste them):

          Code:
          dmesg | grep firmware
          Code:
          lsmod
          Code:
          iwconfig

Here's your wireless, all set for you to connect to an access point.

Now click (or right-click) on the Network icon in the system tray. It should show a list of available Access Points. Click on the one that you want to connect to.

              EDIT: Heres a picture example:

The wireless drivers is loading, I highlighted it in red.

                Code:
                frank@VGN-A195EP-PT:~$ iwconfig

Here's your wireless, all set for you to connect to an access point.

Now click (or right-click) on the Network icon in the system tray. It should show a list of available Access Points. Click on the one that you want to connect to.

Re: help on linux disro and wireless connection

It shouldn't be so hard. I think you are expecting it to be hard, so therefore it is.

You had to learn how to use Windows, so you will now need to learn how to use Linux. Don't give up so easily.
