Somebody I know claims that "Windows 8 came out for tablets already"

they claim they have a Popular Mechanics article to back it up.

I'm inclinced to say BS, but maybe I totally just didn't notice.
Let's clear this up: is there such thing as a RELEASED tablet version of Windows 8.

I havent heard a word of anyone having 8 yet.

...and low & behold that I'll still be using XP when it is out...

I'll diddle around with win8 when the RC's come out, but that'll likely be as far as it goes...just like 7.

Windows 8 has some neat new features, but the new interface is gay. If I wanted a smartphone I would have bought one. I'll give it a chance but I'm pretty sure I will be sticking with the paragon of excellence that is Windows 7. Windows 8 needs a touchscreen to operate well anyways.

A touchscreen is fine for a phone or a tablet....but I'd never want one for a desktop pc. I sit about 4ft away from the monitor anyway, its not even within reach.
