A very proud day in the world of computing

So, after I joined this forum, I had to check all the caps in my computers: mobos, PSU's, graphics cards, etc.

    I have this really old Dell (2001) I use as a HTPC for my 24" tube TV...Pentium 4 1.5GHz, 384MB PC133, Radeon X1050, 180W Delta unit....

I checked all the caps....and on the mobo = all nichicon
on the graphics card = all Sanyo
In the PSU = All Rubycon

This made me so happy! What a great sight to see in a computer and no wonder this thing has been going strong running almost daily for 10 years

caps are nichicon? If they are '01 dated HMs or HNs, then that's actually a bad thing.
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

No its not. That was prior to the HN and HM mess, which started in late 03 and ended in 05. I've seen lots of HN and HM nichi's from the 01/02 era that were just fine 10 years later.

Well sweet, I'm glad to hear even the old ones are good! The only thing that has been updated in the computer is the Radeon X1050, everything else was manufactured around November, 2001
