    Nvidia video card capacitor identification

I am trying to identify one of those aluminium radial electrolytics with silver case and blue polarity mark on top. There is no manufacture ID but marking says 721 100 16K. I assume it is a 100uF 16V but what is the 721? And why 16K instead of 16V? Or am I completely wrong? Capacitor is blown so can't measure it and can't remove another easily as it is a horrible 'through hole' multi layer PCB which holds on to it's components with the tenacity of my wife holding onto my wallet. Don't have facility to upload photo at the moment.
    Any info gratefully received!

Is this by chance an older nvidia card, like a GeForce 7000 or 8000 series? It's probably a Sacon FZ capacitor, which aren't really polymers. 721 is most likely a date code. Definitely 100μF 16V. Can we see a picture?

u dont need to use an image hosting site for the pictures just upload them here using the "manage attachments" button when u post. and yes we need more info on the card. tell us who manufactured the video card and the model/series of the video card. the stickers on the card should provide some info.

Photo upload is an internet bandwidth problem here in Saudi a lot of the time; getting various timeout errors except for tiny file sizes. Also DSL link constantly going offline. The card is an Nvidia GF9500GS 512M DDR2 V/D/HDMI. Age unknown.

The card is not fitted to a system at present, I am just trying to repair it for a friend. I am not looking to replace the card or upgrade, just trying to fix it.

This is from my son’s gaming computer that at first had minor overheating issues when playing a very intense game with it causing the computer to crash or reboot

Then bough a new motherboard and a new computer case that a cooling system in it already installed also brought the cooling system for this video card but now the issue with it is that it randomly rebooted screen goes blank randomly and suddenly video freezing or started with video being there then blank screen and then the video comes back or it just stays blank for a while and then maybe it will come back but it...

Just archiving everything related to bumpgate since most stuff has disappeared from Google. Maybe people will finally take the time to read some of it and stop shouting "reflow gpu" at every occasion but rather try to understand what the real issue is…

The issue with this video card is the HDMI port. Specifically on pin 19 (Diode checks on all other pins are normal). When i do a diode check on it from the pin on the board itself, I have nothing. There is also no short on the pin. Resistance reads about 200k. Normally on any HDMI pin 19 I would expect some voltage drop anywhere from .5v to 1.2v but here, I have nothing. The card is operational and can be used via the displayPort ports, but not through the HDMI. Attached you will find the pdf schematics for the card on page 22. I have verified that all of the resistors on this line before the...
