    Another dim uWave oven display

    Hi,
I have a Panasonic NN-5507 microwave working fine, except most (not all) of the VFD display is very dim. Wondering if replacing all the electrolytic caps (4) is the way to go and explains the symptom? See attached photos of the display and circuit board. The largest cap may be leaking? Is that brown glue, or goo?
The transitor area also seems a little scorched from the NEC D794A, but that could be normal from 35 years of heat!

The caps are all 85 degrees C rated:
    C1 2200uf 35v (visibly leaking?)
    C2 100uf 35v
    C3 2.2uf 50v
    C4 10uf 16v

If replacement recommended, what are good replacement caps/part#'s ?

    Thanks for you assistance,
    Barry

Replaced the 4 caps, and $2.50 later... it's working!
Could have saved $1.50, as it was not the big one. The goo at the bottom was glue I think.

      good job.
btw all had the same high hours on them.and you got rid of that brown glue under the big one.
esr tests would be the true test but if you dont have a meter then replacement of all is best.
