    Cisco 19000 series switch

This is a dead WS-C1924C-EN 24 port switch with optical uplink do dahs!

    The PSU is gubbed.
Whereas the O/P filter has 4 of Nichicon PL 2200uF 10V C22, C15, C14 and C17, the ESR of these
all appear within advertised values, that is 0.01 - 0.04 on my ESR meter.

In the primary, the main cap is Nichicon LX rated at 100uF 400V
C4 ESR reads 0.9. This is ok

    However, two of three remaining caps, namely;
    C20 220uF 35V Nichicon VX and C5 Nichicon PF 47uF 35V
reads nil and 21.0 respectively on my ESR meter.
    These require replacement.
I've never has a nil reading on my ESR meter before.

The other Nichicon 47uF 35V PF reads an ESR of 3.0

Two of the pins have cold joints on the main transformer.
This may de due to the track lifting (easy to repair) and such like.
I will check the insulation as well here.

This should be a quick fix bearing in mind I will require to test
    the rest of the supply

Both of the caps on the main pcb are 1000uF 10V UCC LXF.
    Were these replaced with LXY?
I'll get to these in due course for a check.

As most of these series are now dated, what have they been
relpaced with? I known PM replaced PL

    What of the others?

    Any help appreciated

    cisco poe switch PSU issue
    by madan1
    Hello everyone.
I'm troubleshooting a cisco switch, which seems to have an issue with the PSU.
The psu has the following power rails - +12v, -53.5V and +3.3V
When connected to power, the +12 and -53.5 seem to work fine, but the +3.3 starts at ~3v and then goes down to ~0 (I guess this is the cap discharging). This happens both when the cable is connected and not to the switch board.
Any ideas what might be causing this behavior?

Cisco C2960CX managed switch - Won't provide POE
    by fuxxy
Hey guys, I have 4 of these switches.

One switch works as intended - Boots, Accepts configuration, Provides POE. However, after about 3 days the switch stops responding. Won't recognize console USB cable inserted, TX/RX lights stay lit when cables unplugged. Works again after power cycle.

The other three will boot, accept configuration, and will uplink to the network. However they won't provide power to connected POE devices. I've ruled out configuration issue, as I have cloned the configuration from the 'working' switch to all 3 of these non-working switches....

    Micro Momentary Push Switch?
    by Natob82
Great to be here! I'm a newbie here trying to find a "micro", momentary push switch to repair a Sony "clamshell" video walkman. This micro switch has long since discontinued by Sony, however I hope there are third-party switches of the same size and functionality that I might be able to source to play the same role. The purpose of this switch is to tell the video walkman that the user has activated the mechanical tape eject button, turning that physical action into an electronic signal that tells the tape transport mechanism to open so one can load or eject a video tape. I...

NEC TurboExpress On/Off Power Switch Replacement Help
    by grimacelord
    Hello,

I've been working on a NEC TurboExpress and I accidentally got the plastic inside the power ON/OFF switch too hot while doing other repairs and melted it. At first, it would still power on when sliding the switch, but you had to really press inward while sliding to get it to work.

I removed the switch component and tried to gently melt the plastic back so it would work more reliably and all I managed to do was make it worse.

I need to find a replacement On/OFF switch for this, but having some trouble figuring out which kind of switch I need....
